KUALA LUMPUR (July 30): Datuk Seri Johan Abdullah has stepped down from Malakoff Corp Bhd's board as its non-independent and non-executive director, following his departure from Lembaga Tabung Haji (Tabung Haji).

His resignation took effect last Thursday (July 26). According to Malakoff's Annual Report 2017, Johan, 61, held the post since May 29, 2017.

Prior to quitting Malakoff's board, Johan completed his two-year contract as group managing director and chief executive officer with Tabung Haji on June 30. The pilgrim's fund has a 10.318% direct stake in Malakoff.

As at 3.20pm, Malakoff shares traded lower by one sen or 1.03% at 96.5 sen, giving it a market capitalisation of RM4.83 billion.
