KUALA LUMPUR (June 13): The following is a press statement from Rockwills Group, reproduced in full.

Rockwills Group would like to state that the article that allegedly appeared in The Edge CEO Morning Brief on Monday, June 13 is fake. This has been confirmed with and acknowledged by The Edge publication itself. The Edge does not publish its Morning Brief on Mondays. Publication of The Edge CEO Morning Brief are from Tuesdays to Fridays.

Impersonating a credible social media platform to create fake news aimed at tarnishing the brand and corporate image of an organisation is a criminal matter. Rockwills has lodged a police report and reported to the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC). We hope that the authorities will take this seriously, conduct a thorough investigation and bring the perpetrators to justice.

In the light of the above, Rockwills would like the Malaysian reading public to not assist the fake news creators by disseminating and forwarding the said fake article indiscriminately but verify directly with Rockwills Group.

Rockwills would like to reiterate that it subscribes fully to the Personal Data Protection Act. The group has invested heavily in protecting sensitive personal information of its customers. This remains and continues to be a top priority.
