KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 20): Barakah Offshore Petroluem Bhd’s executive deputy chairman cum founder Nik Hamdan Bin Daud has accumulated an additional 1.87 million shares, or 0.13% equity stake in the company at RM1.37 per share.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, the oil and gas services provider announced that Nik Hamdan's investment vehicle United Power Group Holdings Ltd (UPGHL) acquired the block of shares.

With the latest purchase, Nik Hamdan holds a 47.78% direct stake in Barakah, with an indirect interest of 3.52% through UPGHL.

Not including the transaction today, Nik Hamdan had acquired 24.8 million shares, or 3.44% equity stake in Barakah since Tuesday.

Barakah’s share price dropped four sen or 2.88% to RM1.35 today, giving it a market capitalization of RM968.03 million.
