<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>Muhammad joined BNM in 1984 and went on to occupy the Deputy Governor’ post in 2010. He was named as the Governor in May 2016 but resigned in June 2018.</p></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>Muhammad is also a former commissioner of the Securities Commission Malaysia and independent director of Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas).</p></div>
