KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 8): The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) and Kumpulan Wang Persaraan (Diperbadankan) (KWAP) increased their respective stakes in Bursa Malaysia Bhd as its share price fell near the lowest in a year.
According to Bursa’s own bourse filings, the EPF on Oct 4 bought 17,200 shares in the company.
Following the latest acquisition, the fund’s direct interest in Bursa increased to 64.19 million or 7.93%.
Earlier on Oct 1, the EPF also purchased 200,000 shares in Bursa.
It also on Sept 15 to 30 acquired a total of 3.81 million shares in the company.
Bursa did not specify at what price the EPF bought its shares.
Meanwhile, KWAP on Oct 6 acquired 16,000 shares in Bursa.
This raised its direct interest in the company to 90.71 million or 11.21%.
KWAP also on Sept 6 to 9 purchased 48,000 Bursa shares.
Bursa also did not disclose at what price KWAP bought its shares.
At the time of writing on Friday, Bursa was hovering around its one-year low of RM7.31.
At 10.03am, the stock had added one sen or 0.14% to RM7.35, valuing the group at RM5.94 billion.
Over the past one year, the counter had fallen 12.19%.
