(July 29): The 27-year-old despatch rider of a trading company who was remanded by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) on Sunday has been released on RM50,000 bail in two sureties, Astro Awani reported.

Tazri Talib was the fifth person detained since last Monday over investigations into debt-ridden state fund, 1Malaysian Development Bhd (1MDB).

He was held under Section 16(a) of the MACC Act for alleged bribery.

MACC had detained four others in its investigation into 1MDB.

They were Jerome Lee, group executive director of construction firm Putrajaya Perdana Berhad, Datuk Shamsul Anwar Sulaiman of Ihsan Perdana Sdn Bhd, Ariffin Ismail Shahul Hameed of a trading company, and Datuk Rosman Abdullah, who is managing director of a construction and development company.

Shamsul, Lee and Rosman were released on RM100,000 bail with two sureties each while Ariffin was released on RM50,000 bail and two sureties. – The Malaysian Insider
