(June 30): Selangor DAP and PKR leaders are expected to discuss the future of the Pakatan Rakyat coalition in the state when they meet in Shah Alam today, without the presence of third partner, PAS.

The Malaysian Insider understands that the meeting will be held this afternoon at the menteri besar's office. DAP will likely be represented by Selangor DAP chief Tony Pua, his deputy Gobind Singh Deo and state DAP vice chief Teng Chang Khim.

Pua, when contacted today, confirmed the meeting with Menteri Besar Mohamed Azmin Ali and the main topic of discussion will be on the future of the state government.

"It's about the future of the state government," Pua told The Malaysian Insider in a text message.

Other issues to be discussed included the relationship between DAP and PKR and PAS's status in the state government.

This would be the first meeting held between the state DAP leaders and Azmin, since PAS decided to sever ties with DAP at its muktamar and DAP declaring the demise of the pact.

State assistant secretary Ng Suee Lim said the spirit of PR remained as high as when it was first established, except for the cooperation framework which ended because of PAS's "betrayal".

"In DAP, we remain loyal to the original spirit of the formation of Pakatan.

"But since there was a betrayal in the common policy framework, we agree that the previous cooperation became meaningless," said Ng.

Ng said the hope now among the grassroots level was to find a meeting point for a new cooperation for the sake of the people of Selangor.

"We are working on a new formula for cooperation, there will be some changes and so on.

"But we will be doing it for the good of the people."

Meanwhile, Gobind (pic) said Selangor DAP held a meeting last night before meeting with Azmin today.

Azmin is caught in a quandary whether to support PAS or DAP since the feud between the two partners escalated.

PKR currently holds 13 seats in the state assembly, DAP and PAS 15 each. The coalition government’s 43 seats give it a majority of 21 seats over Barisan Nasional’s 12 seats. – The Malaysian Insider
