KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 14): Two new Covid-19 clusters were detected in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur in the 24 hours as of noon today, with a total of 38 infections.

Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said 25 of the infections were from the Solar Ria cluster involving Selangor’s Sepang, Kuala Selangor, Gombak, Petaling and Hulu Langat districts.

Of these 25 cases, nine involve locals and 16 comprise foreigners. To-date, 2,339 individuals have been tested.

The Senu Setia cluster, on the other hand, has 13 positive cases, all of them foreigners. This workplace cluster involves the Kepong district in Kuala Lumpur.

Noor Hisham said there are a total of 191 active clusters at present. Of these, 46 clusters reported an increase in cases today.

The highest increases were from the Ceram cluster (220 cases), Tapak Bina Muda cluster (143 cases) and Teratai cluster (81 cases).

Meanwhile, the Blenteng LD cluster in Sabah and Greenhill cluster in Sarawak were declared to have ended today. With this, a total of 227 clusters have ended.

Malaysia today saw 1,371 new Covid-19 cases, bringing total infections in the country to 84,846. There were four new deaths, raising total fatalities to 419.
