KUALA LUMPUR (April 25): The Ministry of Health (MoH) announced that 43 infections were detected in the Bali-Cluster, whose cause of infection was an individual who travelled to Bali, Indonesia. The number of positive cases related to the cluster has more than doubled in nearly two weeks from 20 cases reported on April 13. 

There have been a total of 43 cases in this cluster, comprising 30 cases who are being treated at Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital in Pahang. So far, there are nine recoveries, one being treated in ICU and three deaths (cases 1575th, 5,064th and 4,129th) in the cluster in Kuantan, according to Director-General of Health Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.

Of the 43 cases, 10 are medical personnel, said Noor Hisham, 2,301 Covid-19 tests have been conducted at the hospital so far.

“Steps have been taken to curb the spread from this cluster, including the decontamination and moving of patients to nearby government hospitals,” he told the daily media briefing today. 

The MoH announced  51 new Covid-19 cases today, marking the ninth consecutive day of cases remaining below 100.

The country’s infection number stands at 5,742 cases, while the number of active cases continue to drop to 1,882 -- the lowest level in four weeks. 

A total of 99 patients have recovered and they have been discharged today, raising the total number of discharged patients to 3,762 cases or recovery rate at 65.5% of the total. The number of daily recoveries has exceeded the daily.

Meanwhile, there were two deaths reported as of noon today, the deadly virus has killed 98 people in the country.
