KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 27): Costa Coffee’s outlet in Sunway Pyramid won the “Overall Best-in-class Design” award at the Costa Coffee Annual Global Store Design Forum in London today.

The award-winning outlet is one of the six recently-launched Costa Coffee retail outlets in Malaysia, and is the chain’s largest outlet in Malaysia. The store features the second Costa brew bar in the world and the only brew bar in Southeast Asia.

Costa Coffee’s Malaysian master franchisee Gapurna Permai Sdn Bhd said it was ecstatic over the win, and that it will fuel its drive to develop more innovative and creative stores locally.

“We are also proud to have been able to establish such a significant milestone for the Costa Coffee brand in Malaysia on an international level,” said Gapurna Permai director Nor Izzati Mohamad Salim.

The forum focuses on the achievements of over 3,280 Costa Coffee outlets worldwide.

Gapurna Permai, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Gapurna Group, was appointed the master franchisee in March last year.

The coffee chain has six outlets in Malaysia. They are located at Sunway Pyramid, Bangsar Shopping Centre, Nu Sentral, Q Sentral, Menara Allianz Sentral and Menara MCMC in Cyberjaya.
