KUALA LUMPUR (April 6): ConnectCounty Holdings Bhd's 51%-owned unit has accepted a RM128.91 million contract to develop a private medical centre in Alor Setar, Kedah.

In a bourse filing, the group announced that its 51%-owned subsidiary Waja Build Tech Sdn Bhd (WBT) has accepted a letter of award from Intan Medical Centre Sdn Bhd to be the contractor for the main building works and operation fixed facilities works for a six-storey private medical centre.

The contract will commence on May 6 and will last for 24 months, and is scheduled to be completed by May 5, 2023.

"The scope of the contract involves engineering design and procurement, build and complete for main building works and operation fixed facilities works including all necessary testing and commissioning works and complying technical requirement(s) to obtain clearance letter from the related authority's department," it said.

ConnectCounty said that the contract is expected to contribute positively towards its future earnings throughout the its duration.

Shares in ConnectCounty closed 6.82% or 1.5 sen higher at 23.5 sen, valuing it at RM186.55 million. It saw 51.54 million shares done.
