KUALA LUMPUR (May 14): Candidates who will hold leadership positions in government-linked companies (GLC) and authorities will be vetted first, said Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad in a statement today.

The candidates will be required to undertake the following:

  1. Checks through the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission's (MACC) integrity vetting system
  2. Their bankruptcy status by the Insolvency Department
  3. Their involvement in any companies
  4. A declaration of their family members who are either serving in or participating in procurements involving any GLCs, and
  5. Verifications of their education and qualifications.

The statement was issued by the Prime Minister's Office after Dr Mahathir chaired the Special Cabinet Committee on Anti-Corruption (JKKMAR) meeting today.
