KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 11): CAM Resources Bhd said its wholly-owned subsidiary Saluran Suriamas Sdn Bhd has received feed-in tariff approval from the Sustainable Energy Development Authority Malaysia (SEDA) for a 7MW renewable energy plant in Taiping, Perak.

In a bourse filing, CAM said the approval granted is for a period of 16 years, commencing no later than Dec 28, 2018.

“The expected date of signing of the power purchase agreement (PPA) with Tenaga Nasional Bhd is January 2017 at a fixed tariff rate of RM0.3685 per kWh for 16 years,” it said.

The company said it will be funding the construction of the power plant, through a combination of internally-generated funds and bank loan.

It said the approval will not have any significant impact on its performance for the financial year ending Dec 31, 2016, but expects positive future earnings contribution for the 16-year period from Dec 28, 2018.

CAM’s share price closed unchanged at 32 sen, giving the company a market capitalisation of RM59.68 million.
