KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 17): Bursa Malaysia’s research arm Bursa Digital Research said the total market capitalisation of Bursa-listed companies moderated 3.2% to RM1.73 trillion as at Jan 31, 2022 from a month earlier as markets normalised subsequent to window-dressing by fund managers in December 2021.

Bursa said that in January 2022, the bourse’s average daily trading volume (ADV), however improved 6.2% to RM2.03 billion from a month earlier, with growth recorded across all local investor segments.

"Foreign investors turned net buyers with an inflow of RM332 million,” Bursa said in its latest market update report.

According to Bursa’s latest update, there are 969 companies listed on the exchange in 2022.

Out of the 969 companies, 784 and 141 are listed on the Main Market and ACE Market respectively, while 44 are listed on the LEAP Market.

At 5pm on Thursday (Feb 17), Bursa’s share price closed down two sen or 0.31% at RM6.40 for a market value of about RM5.18 billion.

Bursa has 809.3 million issued shares, according to its latest quarterly financial report.
