KUALA LUMPUR (March 17): Bursa Malaysia has today suspended proprietary day trading (PDT) and intraday short selling (IDSS) for 10 stocks including KLCI components Hong Leong Financial Group Bhd (HLFG) and Press Metal Aluminium Holdings Bhd as the last done price of the approved securities dropped more than 15% from the reference price.

Bursa said today in separate special announcements on its website that the other stocks are Inari Amertron Bhd, Pavilion Real Estate Investment Trust, Hengyuan Refining Co Bhd, Bermaz Auto Bhd, Serba Dinamik Holdings Bhd, Mega First Corp Bhd, VS Industry Bhd and Aeon Credit Service (M) Bhd.

"The short selling under PDT and IDSS will only be activated the following trading day, Wednesday, March 18, 2020 at 08:30am,” Bursa said.

Among the 10 stocks so far today, HLFG’s share price fell as much as RM2.63 or 21.24% to RM9.75 while Press Metal dropped as much as 61 sen or 17.58% to RM2.86.

Both stocks pared losses. At about 9:55am, HLFG shares were traded at RM11.46 for a market capitalisation of RM14.18 billion. Press Metal was transacted at RM3.01 for a market value of RM14.01 billion.
