KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 10): Bursa Malaysia on Wednesday (Nov 10) issued an unusual market activity (UMA) query on the recent sharp rise in price and volume of furniture maker TAFI Industries Bhd's shares after the stock's price climbed about 7% to its all-time high of RM3.78.

"We draw your attention to the sharp rise in price and volume of your company's shares recently," Bursa told TAFI in a statement, which was carried on TAFI's filing on Bursa's website.

At 11.53am, TAFI's share price pared gains to RM3.69 after the stock was traded between RM3.53 and RM3.78 so far.

At RM3.78, TAFI has a market value of about RM322.09 million based on the company's 85.21 million issued shares.

TAFI saw 23.85 million shares traded.

At the time of writing, TAFI had not responded to Bursa's UMA query.

On Tuesday (Nov 9), TAFI's share price closed up at RM3.54 from RM2.73 on Monday (Nov 8) while the stock's trading volume spiked to 48.15 million shares from 21.73 million units.

Year to-date, TAFI's share price has risen to current levels from the stock's closing price of 63 sen on Jan 4, 2021.
