KUALA LUMPUR (March 7): Bursa Malaysia slapped Len Cheong Holding Bhd with an unusual market activity (UMA) query on the recent sharp rise in price and volume of the furniture manufacturer's shares.

Last Monday (Feb 29), Len Cheong shares closed unchanged at 17.5 sen, with 30,400 units traded.

Today, the group’s share price increased as much as 1.5 sen or 5% to 32.5 sen. At 10:26am, the stock was transacted at 31.5 sen for a market capitalisation of RM20.79 million.

Len Cheong saw 1.2 million shares exchanging hands. Bursa told Len Cheong: "We draw your attention to the recent sharp rise in price and volume of your company’s shares."

Len Cheong had not responded to Bursa's UMA query at the time of writing.
