KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 27): Bursa Malaysia announced today that proprietary day trading (PDT) and intraday short selling (IDSS) of Hai-O Enterprise Bhd shares have been suspended for the rest of the day after the securities' price dropped more than 15% from the reference price.

"The short selling under PDT and IDSS will only be activated the following trading day, Monday, Sept 30, 2019 at 8:30am," Bursa said in a special announcement on its website.

So far today, the traditional Chinese medicine retailer's share price fell as much as 49 sen or 18% to RM2.24.

At 3:45pm, Hai-O shares were traded at RM2.32 among Bursa's top decliners. The stock saw 6.38 million shares transacted.

Hai-O's share price fell today after the company said yesterday that first quarter net profit dropped to RM7.74 million from RM11 million a year earlier.

Revenue fell to RM66.06 million in the first quarter ended July 31, 2019 from RM80.09 million a year ago.
