KUALA LUMPUR (May 12): Borneo Oil Bhd said its bonus issue of up to 2.11 billion new shares as well as 528.09 million warrants will be credited on May 26.

The bonus shares will be issued on the basis of four bonus shares for every eight existing shares, whereas the bonus warrants will be paid on the basis of one free Warrant D for every eight existing shares.

In a filing with the bourse, Borneo Oil said it has fixed the exercise price of Warrant D at seven sen, which represents a discount of approximately 41.28% from the theoretical ex-bonus price after the share and warrant bonus issues of 11.92 sen based on the five-day weighted average market price of its shares up to yesterday.

Proceeds from the exercise of the Warrants D will be placed in deposits with financial institutions or short-term money market instruments, the group said.

It added that the interest derived from the deposits with financial institutions or any gains arising from the short-term money market instruments will be used as additional working capital.

Borneo Oil’s share price settled 2.7% higher at 19 sen today, valuing the group at RM575.54 million.
