KUALA LUMPUR (April 5): The international reserves of Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) increased to US$103 billion as at March 29.

In a statement today, BNM said the reserves level has taken into account the quarterly adjustment for foreign exchange revaluation changes.

"The reserves position is sufficient to finance 7.5 months of retained imports and is 1.0 time total short-term external debt," the central bank said.

On March 22, BNM said its international reserves stood at US$102.6 billion as at March 15.
