KUALA LUMPUR (March 7): The international reserves of Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) amounted to US$95 billion (RM426.3 billion) as at Feb 28, 2017, unchanged from the US$95 billion (RM426 billion) figure as at Jan 31, 2017.

In a statement today, BNM said the reserves position is sufficient to finance 8.5 months of retained imports and is 1.1 times the short-term external debt, which includes short-term offshore borrowings, non-resident holdings of short-term ringgit debt securities, non-resident deposits with the banking system and other short-term debts.
