KUALA LUMPUR (May 28): BMW Group Malaysia launched three new luxury models — the new BMW 530e M Sport, BMW 530i M Sport and BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo.

All three models will be fully assembled in Malaysia, adding to the automaker's portfolio of locally assembled vehicles in the market, it said in separate statements.

BMW Group Malaysia's managing director Hans de Visser said the new BMW 5 series types are remarkable in driving dynamics and stylishly sleek in appearance.

"The latest variants of the iconic BMW 5 Series offer a dynamic driving experience that is beheld in its class, and we are honoured to be able to lead this change towards electromobility in Malaysia to much greater heights for both our loyal customers and enthusiasts of the brand," he said.

These models come with the latest-generation driver assistance systems and a redesigned appearance.

Notably, BMW is offering an exclusive Shadow Line Package for the BMW 530i Sport for a special price of RM5,000, excluding labour, from the usual RM5,437.12 until Dec 31.

The package will equip the vehicle with kidney grille, air duct trim and window frames in High Gloss Black.

Both models come with an inline four-cylinder BMW TwinPower Turbo 2-litre petrol engine, with the new BMW 530e M Sport featuring the latest generation of the BMW eDrive electric motor.

The Eight-Speed Steptronic Sport transmission system also comes as standard for both the new variants.

"The New BMW 530e M Sport offers a combined maximum output of 292hp and 420Nm of torque — consisting of a 109hp output from the electric motor. The electrified variant is capable of a century sprint in 5.9 seconds. With a top speed of 235km/h, the New BMW 530e M Sport consumes only 2.3l/100km of fuel with a CO2 emission of 53g/km. The electric motor is capable of an all-electric range of up to 67 kilometres (NEDC correlated) — making all-electric city driving and short journeys possible.

"The electric motor can be fully charged with a BMW i Wallbox in approximately three hours and 35 minutes, or under six hours with a conventional main socket via a standard charging cable. The driving mode in the electrified variant can be personalised via the eDrive button in the centre console. The standard AUTO eDRIVE setting enables all-electric driving up to a speed of 110km/h. Switching to MAX eDRIVE mode enables all-electric speed up to 140km/h. The BMW Xtra Boost mode is also available in the New BMW 530e M Sport, giving the vehicle additional power of up 40hp during acceleration," said BMW Malaysia in a statement.

Meanwhile, de Visser said the new BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo "combines long-distance comfort and sporting ability, with luxurious leather and intelligent functionality".

"The New BMW 630i GT M Sport is powered by an inline four-cylinder petrol engine capable of a maximum output of 258hp, a peak torque of 400Nm and a top speed of 250km/h. The century sprint can be completed in just 6.5 seconds. Fuel consumption is measured at 7.3l/100km of travel, with CO2 emission of 166g/km."

The new models come with a five-year unlimited mileage warranty with Free Scheduled Service Programme and BMW Roadside Assistance and Accident Hotline. The New BMW 530e M Sport without insurance retails for RM340,800.00 including SST and RM395,800.00 for the BMW 530i M Sport including SST. The retail pricing for the New BMW 630i GT M Sport will cost RM430,800.00 including SST.
