KUALA LUMPUR: Bina Puri Holdings Bhd, via its wholly-owned subsidiary Bina Puri Sdn Bhd, has bagged a RM49.87 million contract from Brilliant Corridor Sdn Bhd for infrastructure works on a piece of land at Awan Besar in Bukit Jalil. The land is adjacent to Station 01 of the proposed extension of the light rail transit (LRT) linking the Ampang Line to Putra Heights.

The land is being prepared for a mixed development called “Station 01” by Brilliant Corridor and Prasarana Malaysia Bhd.

This brings the total new projects the group has secured this year to RM695 million and unbuilt order book to RM2.01 billion.

“The infrastructure project was awarded by Brilliant Corridor Sdn Bhd on Nov 10 and it is to be completed within eight months,” said Bina Puri.

“It is crucial that this project to construct infrastructural works at Awan Besar [is] completed in time with the commencement of operations at Station 01 if this were to mean anything to enhance Prasarana’s LRT services,” Bina Puri group managing director Tan Sri Tee Hock Seng said.

The works entail, among others, the construction and completion of a new main access road, realignment of existing roads, underpass, vehicular box culverts, retaining walls, surface car parks, and covered walkway. It also involves the installation of street lighting, traffic signalisation and upgrading, drainage and road furniture, and landscaping.
