KUALA LUMPUR (June 11): Boustead Heavy Industries Corporation Bhd (BHIC) announced that Izaddeen Daud has joined its board of directors as a non-independent non-executive director, effective today. 

In a statement today, BHIC said Izaddeen, 51, started his career as an auditor at Earnst and Young. 

"He was a senior manager at Affin Merchant Bank and senior vice president at Permodalan Nasional Bhd before holding the position of CEO at ASM Investment Bhd. 

"His previous board appointments include BSN Corporation and Desaru Development Corporation," it said. 

He also sits on the board of directors of Boustead as an independent non-executive director, it added.

"Izaddeen is currently executive chairman of E&E Gas Sdn Bhd. He holds a B.Sc. (Hons) Accounting and Law from De Monfort University in Leicester, United Kingdom," it said. 

At the midday break today, BHIC shares rose 9.56% or 6.5 sen to 74.5 sen, valuing it at RM185.1 million.
