KUALA LUMPUR (May 19): A joint statement today by 27 Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) members including the party’s vice-presidents and supreme council members claimed that the council during its meeting on Feb 23, 2020 decided to leave Pakatan Harapan and form a new political coalition with other parties outside Pakatan.
The 27 Bersatu members said they fully support the formation of Perikatan Nasional (PN) as a coalition of political parties, which uphold objectives contained in the PN memorandum of understanding. The Bersatu members said that for the sake of the people’s well-being and the country’s political stability, they had agreed that Bersatu joins PN.
