KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 23): Asia Brands Bhd's net profit for the third quarter ended Dec 31, 2021 (3QFY22) rose 66% year-on-year to RM6.44 million from RM3.86 million on the back of better store productivity after the lifting of the movement control order.

In a bourse filing on Tuesday (Feb 22), the company said revenue for the quarter rose to RM55.82 million from RM42.19 million a year earlier.

Earnings per share stood at 2.77 sen versus 1.66 sen previously.

The company did not declare any dividend.

For the cumulative nine months ended Dec 31, 2021, Asia Brands said its net profit dipped 12.88% to RM11.7 million from RM13.43 million on the back of a lower revenue of RM125.96 million versus RM126.11 million previously.

On its prospects, Asia Brands said it will adhere to the standard operating procedures to ensure business continuity during the easing of restrictions under Phase 4 of the National Recovery Plan.

“We remain cautiously optimistic that the recovery may likely continue, leading towards the end of the financial year,” it added.
