KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 14): AmInvest chief executive officer Datin Maznah Mahbob has been ranked by Islamica 500 as among the top 50 individuals in the world who has had a major impact on the Islamic industry this year.

In a statement today, AmInvest said Islamica 500 — published by Brussels-based ISFIN Institute — in its inaugural issue, provided biographical details for 500 of the world’s most prominent and influential personalities in the Islamic world and economy.

ISFIN (Islamic Finance Advisors) is the world’s leading advisory for Islamic markets, an independent consultancy firm that operates in 75 countries across five continents.

“From this list, the top 50 individuals who are providing the most cutting edge and innovative achievements were identified based on a set of criteria including innovation, substance, ethics, entrepreneurship, global or international impact, sustainability and long-term projects and multi-sector approach,” AmInvest said.

AmInvest added that the outstanding reference in Islamica 500’s inaugural edition launched at the 11th World Islamic Economic Forum in November here, recorded the achievements of men and women who built and pioneered the Islamic economy and halal industry.

“Individuals listed have been selected from across the globe from different sectors, markets and nationalities; and invitation was granted only to those who demonstrated leadership, achievement and contribution to the development of the Islamic economy.

“Personalities listed were surveyed to assess their contribution towards this end,” said AmInvest, the brand for the funds management business of AMMB Holdings Bhd, which manages both conventional and Shariah-compliant funds.
