KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 10): Allianz Malaysia Bhd shareholders have much to cheer as the group has proposed an interim dividend of 63 sen per share for the financial year ended Dec 31, 2021 (FY21).

The insurer has also declared an interim dividend of 75.6 sen per irredeemable convertible preference share (ICPS).

Previously, the group paid a dividend of 58 sen per share and 69.6 sen per ICPS for FY20.

In a bourse filing on Monday (Jan 10), Allianz said the entitlement and payment dates for the latest dividend would be announced at a later date.

Allianz saw its net profit fall 10.78% to RM115.16 million for 3QFY21, from RM129.07 million a year earlier, on the back of higher claims provision and fair value losses on investment in its life insurance segment.

Quarterly revenue inched up 3.51% to RM1.58 billion, from RM1.53 billion in the same quarter last year, as gross earned premiums and investment income rose by RM35 million and RM18.7 million respectively.

For the first nine months of FY21, net profit fell 13.94% to RM323.82 million from RM376.3 million in the same period of FY20, despite a 7.7% rise in revenue to RM4.76 billion from RM4.42 billion.
