KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 15): French aircraft maker Airbus SE has increased the average list prices of its commercial aircraft by 2% across its product line, starting Jan 1.

In a statement, Airbus commercial aircraft chief operating officer John Leahy said the new pricing shows continuous investment to maximise customers’ satisfaction.

“Our new 2018 pricing reflects Airbus’ continuous investments into its aircraft programmes to maximise their value for our customers’ satisfaction — with the winning combination of performance, operating economics and passenger experience,” Leahy said.

AirAsia Bhd is Airbus' largest customer in Malaysia, and according to the Centre for Aviation, the low-cost carrier has brought in 17 new A320ceos and seven new A320neos.

AirAsia also added seven second-hand A320ceos to its fleet, while retiring three A320ceos.

This resulted in a net increase of 28 aircraft under AirAsia’s fleet of 204 aircraft in 2017.

Airbus said A320ceo’s list price has risen by 2.02% to US$101 million in 2018, from US$99 million last year, while A320neo’s list price has increased by 2.03% to US$110.6 million, from US$108.4 million.
