KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 31): The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has appointed Datuk Seri Ahmad Khusairi Yahaya (pictured) as the Investigation Division director, effective Dec 24, 2019.

Khusairi, who was formerly the director at MACC's Department of Intelligence, will take over the role from Datuk Seri Simi Abdul Ghani, who undertook compulsory retirement at 60, MACC said in a statement.

It marked an end to Simi's 36-year tenure with MACC, formerly known as Badan Pencegah Rasuah, beginning as an investigation officer in 1983.

Khusairi, 52, had previously served in MACC as a director of the Policy, Planning and Research Division, and a director for MACC Federal Territory Kuala Lumpur. He started his career with the anti-graft agency as an investigation officer on 1992.

Meanwhile, Datuk Abd Aziz Aban, 55, has been appointed to take over Khusairi's role as the director at the Department of Intelligence effective on the same date.

Abd Aziz's last position was director of the Inspection and Consultancy Division. He previously served as a director in MACC Putrajaya, MACC Kelantan and MACC Pulau Pinang.
