<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>KUALA LUMPUR (April 27): Kumpulan Perangsang Selangor Bhd (KPS) has appointed Ahmad Fariz Hassan as its new chief executive officer (CEO) effective May 1.</p></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>According to its filing with Bursa Malaysia today, the group said Ahmad Fariz has been the acting chief executive officer since Sept 1 last year.</p></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>His appointment was following the resignation of Suhaimi Kamaralzaman as the group CEO and managing director on the same day (Sept 1), it added.</p></div><div class=inPageAd id=div-gpt-ad-inpage></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>"The board had on April 27, approved the appointment of Ahmad Fariz as CEO of the company, and the appointment shall take effect on May 1," the filing read.</p></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>KPS said Ahmad Fariz, 39, is the head of strategic planning and investment of KPS since April 2015.</p></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>He was formerly a senior vice-president at Khazanah Nasional Bhd, between January and March 2015.</p></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>In a separate filing, KPS said Suhaimi has been redesignated as non-executive director of the company.</p></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>Suhaimi, 47, was the group CEO and managing director since May 10, 2011. Prior to this, he was CEO and managing director of Melewar Industrial Group Bhd.</p></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>KPS' shares closed up one sen or 0.93% at RM1.08 today, for a market value of RM538.92 million.</p></div>
