KUALA LUMPUR (March 25): 7-Eleven Malaysia Holdings Bhd announced today that its convenience stores and logistics centre will now operate from 7am to 11pm daily, or as advised by the local authorities.

Known to be open 24 hours daily normally, 7-Eleven convenience stores will now only open as per the stipulated operation hours, in support of the Government's call to restrict movement during the Movement Control Order (MCO), that is now extended until April 14.

Meanwhile, stores in zero traffic areas, such as shopping malls have been closed along with the respective malls, 7-Eleven said.

"While 7-Eleven remains open for business, we echo the Government's plea to shop as little as possible and to 'stay at home'.

"During this period, the safety of our employees, business partners, and customers continues to be our priority," the convenience store chain operator said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia today.

Shares of 7-Eleven went up 2 sen or 1.52% to close at RM1.34 today with a market capitalisation of RM1.54 billion.
