KUALA LUMPUR: Residents of Taman Tun Dr Ismail (TTDI) in Kuala Lumpur are in a state of shock over the violent murder of an auditor, allegedly by her husband, on Monday night.

A neighbour who declined to be named said he was sad he could not do anything to help the victim.

“I was at home the whole day entertaining guests for Hari Raya. If we had heard any screaming, we would have immediately alerted the police,” he said.

The husband, who is believed to have bludgeoned his wife to death with a blunt object, is said to be quiet and reserved.

“The family was quiet and they kept to themselves. We never heard any quarrels or arguments,” the neighbour said.

The retiree said the couple and their two children had moved in two years ago, but did not interact with the neighbours.

“I only see them while passing and we never interacted. They also did not join in any of the neighbourhood activities or have their relatives and friends over for parties or gatherings.”

He said in the last few months, he had not even seen the husband.

“He used to come to the mosque on his motorcycle, but I have not seen him in the past few months. I even asked the wife one day if he was well, and she nodded.

“They look like any other family. We never knew that they were facing problems,” the neighbour said, adding that he did not want to pry by asking about the family too much.

TTDI Residents Association chairman Mohd Hatim Abdullah extended his condolences to the family.
