KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 2): Former deputy head of the Sabah division for Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia Datuk Juslie Ajirol has left the board of Suria Capital Holdings Bhd.

Juslie, who was appointed as the director of the property developer in February last year, resigned on Wednesday (Feb 1, 2023) due to "other commitments".

He was also an MP for Libaran from 1998 to 2018, according to Suria Capital’s Bursa Malaysia filing on Thursday.

“His experience also includes 20 years in [the] corporate sector as chairman of government-linked companies, namely Cement Industries Sabah (CIS) (2000-2004) and Sabah Urban Development Corp (SUDC) (1999-2018),” the group added.

Last month, the Sabah government approved Suria Capital’s wholly owned unit Sabah Ports Sdn Bhd’s plan to enter a strategic collaboration with DP World. The key areas of the collaboration are the management and operation of Sapangar Bay Container Port as well as investment of logistics and supply chain infrastructure in Sabah.

Suria Capital’s share price was trading up one sen or 0.85% to RM1.19 on Thursday, giving the group a market capitalisation of RM411.53 million.
