KUALA LUMPUR (June 5): After announcing plans to venture into bottling and distributing of sanitiser products, as well as selling air purification products amid the Covid-19 pandemic, Permaju Industries Bhd is now eyeing the rubber gloves business.

Permaju, which is mainly involved in distribution of vehicles, property development and plantation, said in a filing today that it has incorporated a company named Permaju Glove Sdn Bhd (PGSB).

“The intended principal activity of PGSB is to manufacture, distribute, buy, sell and generally deal in rubber goods for industrial and commercial purposes and other related goods, wares and merchandise of every nature and description,” it said.

On April 28, Permaju inked a memorandum of understanding with a local firm to sell the firm’s air purification products to its customers in the automotive sector, citing exponential demand growth for the product.

Prior to that on April 7, the group said it is looking into bottling and distributing Penaclo, a Hong Kong firm’s sanitiser product, for the Southeast Asian market.

Shares of Permaju Industries Bhd slid half a sen or 0.75% to 66 sen today, valuing the group at RM129.32 million. Year-to-date, the counter has retreated 19.02%.
