Sabah goes to the polls today. Besides a slew of parties and independent candidates, the two big coalitions which are going head-to-head in the state elections are Warisan Plus and Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS).

Warisan Plus, led by its namesake Warisan, comprises Pakatan Harapan parties DAP, PKR, and Amanah, as well as the United Progressive Kinabalu Organisation (Upko). Their candidate for chief minister is Warisan's president Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal.

Meanwhile, GRS comprises members of Barisan Nasional (BN), namely Umno, MCA, and PBRS; Perikatan Nasional (PN) component parties Bersatu, STAR, and SAPP; and PN-affiliated PBS. The frontrunners for the post of chief minister are BN Sabah chairman Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin and Sabah's Bersatu chief Datuk Hajiji Noor.
