KUALA LUMPUR (March 17): Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) slipped five notches to 67 on the rating of the world’s Top 100 Airports for 2023, voted by air travellers around the world in the 2022/2023 World Airport Survey.

In the list released on Thursday (March 16), KLIA came far behind Singapore’s Changi Airport which has regained its title as the world’s best airport.

In 2022, KLIA was voted 62nd best in the world.

Customers rated airports according to many factors, including shopping, check-ins, arrivals, transfers, and security and immigration.

Changi regained its title as the world’s best airport, after losing its long-held crown to Qatar for two years running during the height of pandemic travel restrictions.

The Asian hub edged Doha’s Hamad International Airport into second place, with Tokyo’s Haneda Airport bagging third in the Skytrax World Airport Awards 2023. The United States was conspicuous by its absence in the top 10.

KLIA came ahead of Bangkok Suvarnabhumi, Bangalore and London City on the list.
