KUALA LUMPUR (7 June 2022): ZTE is fully committed to enable its customers to maximise the potential from the new infinite possibilities in the digital era.

Following its unveiling of "Inspire the Digital World" as its theme at the recent Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2022 in Barcelona, ZTE presented the highlights of MWC 2022 to the Malaysian audience at a workshop here recently to convey relevant trends to telco leaders, partners, and members of the government in Malaysia.

ZTE Malaysia's Chief Marketing Officer, Tey Khang Lian's summary of the proceedings from MWC 2022 allowed the Malaysian audience to appreciate ZTE's progress in pushing the boundaries of telecommunications

In his keynote address at the one-day workshop, ZTE Malaysia's Chief Marketing Officer, Tey Khang Lian, provided some key insights on digitisation from MWC 2022, specifically on how ZTE can assist operators transition to a sustainable digital future.

"ZTE will always stick to the principle of Simplicity, Agility, and Openness for a win-win solution for all. We will enhance our core competencies and market position for long term collaboration and sustainable growth and speed up the digital transformation to improve solutions and project delivery efficiency.

"ZTE would like to express our highest gratitude to all our strategic partners whereby we had commercialised next-generation IP transmission, creating a better user experience, better network performance and coverage during this pandemic with more than 10,000 sites modernised, including those newly built under MCMC USP program. In addition, it elevated its partnership to the next level with a leading network to hit benchmarks recognised by Opensignal, Tutela, and Ookla," said Tey.

Based on this year's theme, abundant new end-to-end solutions and products have been released, which include simplified site solutions, the UniSite NEO for the wireless network industry's simplest site solution powered by OmniUBR that reduced radio units from 18 to 5, resulting in 50% site rental savings, while the Precise 50G PON and 5-in-1 OTN for wireline network provides large bandwidth, low latency connections. The uSmartNet autonomous network solution for intelligent O&M with AI and automation also creates improvements in ROI, user experience, and service assurance.

Tey also reiterated ZTE's commitment to building a "1+2+3" digital ecosystem to create more excellent value for customers, with the first one referring to a solid foundation consisting of chipsets, algorithms, and architectures.

"The second refers to intelligence and security, which are crucial to 5G networks and business, while the third refers to capability, performance, and efficiency. ZTE has taken the lead in applying Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces (RIS), one of the core technologies of 5G-Advanced and 6G, to the 5G network to realise the co-site and co-coverage of mmWave and Sub-6GHz in dense urban areas, changing the landscape of radio network design," he said.

Dr. Han Gang, ZTE Corporation's Deputy General Manager of RAN, presenting the case on how ZTE's focus on advancing fundamental technologies can help generate products with capabilities to meet both current and future demands.

In his remarks, guest of honour, Dr. Han Gang, ZTE Corporation's Deputy General Manager of RAN, said the 5G era would generate 100 times more traffic than the 4G era, and 5G networks are expected to offer not just much higher capacity, but also much lower latency and higher energy efficiency.

"All these major trends and requirements need much improved network modernisation and spectrum utilisation, enhanced green network capabilities, and stronger capabilities for both B2C and B2B services.

"All this means why advanced fundamental technologies matter, including cutting-edge chipset, advanced algorithm, and flexible system architecture, so that the product has the capabilities to offer innovative solutions to meet the current and future demands," said Dr Han.

"According to reports from Dell'Oro Group, ZTE's 5G base stations rank second in global shipment in 2021, and the total shipment of 5G QCell products has reached 1 million," he said.

In another global benchmarking platform, GlobalData, ZTE QCell ranked first in the industry, with full marks for Enterprise Small-cell, while in the comprehensive rating, ZTE came up as leader.
