The Board of Directors of MPay has announced via Bursa Malaysia that MPSB has received and accepted the Offer Letter dated January 17, 2022.

In the announcement, it is said that MBSP will provide a software platform service to MBPP for payment of council bills in a cashless manner via JomPAY, internet and mobile banking, Visa and MasterCard, eWallet and other payment channels.

It is subject to the conditions to be fulfilled by MPSB within six months from the Offer Letter, the announcement added.

MBPP is one of 151 local governments in the country that has announced plans to go cashless.

Residents and business users in Penang Island can use the platform to make reservations for city council facilities, apply for business licences, request project approval, pay assessments, and much more.

The Smart MBPP has a five-year life span and is renewable for an additional two years.
