The Covid-19 pandemic has literally transformed our lives, forcing us to adapt to the new normal to curb the spread of the virus. As a result, we have been forced to stay indoors, even to the point of working within the confines of our homes.

With our focus on curbing the spread of infections, some areas have been overlooked. A prime example is that of our cars sitting idle in our driveway. Although we drive less these days, having a reliable working vehicle is essential not just from a safety aspect but also for when the need arises.

An inactive vehicle or a car stationed for long periods can have numerous issues. A drained battery, low tyre pressure and degrading oil quality - these are just some of the issues that car owners face. Fortunately, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia understands the importance of good car maintenance and, as such, has taken steps to ensure that your Mercedes-Benz continues to get the same levels of quality service expected despite the ongoing health crisis.

Safely meeting the needs of customers

Mercedes-Benz has always stood at the forefront of pioneering technical achievements, building some of the best and safest vehicles in the world. Naturally, the German automaker understands the importance of having your vehicle operating at its best, even though we are all navigating the uncertainty of the pandemic.

Catering for the needs of customers, all Mercedes-Benz authorised service centres are operating in accordance with the standard operating procedures of the Star Shield programme. Designed for both safety and convenience, the service offerings have been put in place with a comprehensive safety plan.

This includes best practices such as limited physical contact, social distancing as well as increased cleaning and sanitisation within the facility, especially the service centre and common areas. Customers will be provided with masks and hand sanitisers, along with temperature checks conducted before entry into the dealership.

Mercedes-Benz authorised service centres also operate with social distancing practices, with a limited number of customers per entry. Each vehicle will be cleaned and wrapped with seat and steering covers before servicing begins. The steps taken are designed not only to support the mobility needs of customers but also to prioritise their health and safety.

Curated service offerings

Safety is key at Mercedes-Benz Service. As such, customers can choose from several service options for the needs of their vehicle. A Door-to-Door option is tailored for convenience. Customers just need to contact their preferred dealer to arrange the pick-up and delivery of their Mercedes-Benz from a preferred location.

Each Door-to-Door transition is tailored to the required movement restrictions under the prevailing Movement Control Order (MCO). The service is available for a driving distance of up to 30km from a preferred authorised Mercedes-Benz Service Centre. But during a lockdown or Full MCO, the distance is restricted to within a 10km radius.

Similarly, a Drop and Go service is designed for convenience as well as flexibility. Customers can drop off the vehicle during or outside Mercedes-Benz Service opening hours. Just leave your key, and the authorised service centre will have your car serviced and ready for collection within a specified time.

Those pressed for time can opt for the Express Service. When a service appointment is made, Mercedes-Benz Service will have two dedicated experts servicing the vehicle to get it ready within an hour.

Designed for both efficiency and care, two dedicated technicians will conduct a thorough inspection of the vehicle at dedicated Express Service bays. While the car is being serviced, customers can relax in the Star Lounge.

Your mobility needs sorted

Mercedes-Benz Malaysia's range of service options are accessible online. The Online Service Appointment Booking makes it easy for you to get the appointment you want at your authorised Mercedes-Benz dealer - wherever you are and whatever time of day it is.

In addition, authorised service centres use only Mercedes-Benz Genuine Parts, ensuring not only proven quality, safety and reliability but also that your Mercedes-Benz operates at its best at all times. Durable and offering outstanding value for money, Mercedes-Benz genuine parts are developed specifically for your vehicle and are the best choice when it comes to your vehicle's handling characteristics, comfort and value retention.

Furthermore, vehicles serviced at an authorised Mercedes-Benz dealer will have a detailed track record stored in the central Mercedes-Benz database. The Digital Service Report affords customers a secure and convenient record of all service work undertaken on the vehicle, allowing owners to track their vehicles' entire service history.

Easy, flexible, and available 24/7, customers can conveniently book Mercedes-Benz service appointments online here or contact the 24-hour toll-free number (1 800) 88 1133 for immediate assistance in the event of a breakdown.
