KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 13): Central bank governor Tan Sr Zeti Akhtar Aziz hinted at retirement after her term ends in April next year.

That would mark her 16 years of service as governor and 35 years in the central bank.

"I've always said that I aspire to write a book," said Zeti who will turn 68 later this month.

When asked if she would stay on in the interest of national service, Zeti replied, "We well cross the bridge when we come to it."
