KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 04): Zelan Bhd’s 95% owned subsidiary, Terminal Bersepadu Gombak Sdn Bhd, has received a letter from the Prime Minister’s Department on the extension of the fulfilment of conditions precedent in the concession agreement pertaining to the Gombak Integrated Transport Terminal (GITT) project.

The extension is for 12 months from Sept 14, 2014 to Sept 13, 2015, in order for both parties to resolve the Malay Reservation status of the Project Land.

Terminal Bersepadu Gombak had in March 2012 entered into a public-private partnership agreement with the government, to construct the GITT in return for a 25-year concession under the build-lease-manage-operate-transfer model.

It was reported then that construction of the seven-storey terminal, to be integrated with the existing Gombak LRT station, would cost some RM307.4 million and was expected to take 27 months. The GITT was meant to be a transportation hub for the eastbound intercity buses and taxis, as well as intracity buses and taxis for the Klang Valley.

However, there have been some delays on the construction of the GITT, pending the revocation of the Malay Reservation status of the said land in Gombak.
