PUTRAJAYA (Oct 12): UMNO president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said he hopes the process of his giving a statement to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission over alleged misappropriation of funds of a foundation can be completed today.

“I hope so,” he replied when reporters asked him whether the process can be completed today.

Ahmad Zahid, who arrived at the MACC headquarters for the third straight day this week, was given a break to attend Friday prayers and is required to return to the office at 3 pm. He arrived at the office at 9.18 am.

“I will resume giving my statement after the Friday prayers. I will return; I am not running away,” he said.

The former deputy prime minister tweeted on Monday that he would extend his full cooperation to the MACC in their investigation.
