KUALA LUMPUR: Yayasan Tun Hussein Onn has submitted a representation to the Attorney-General’s Chambers over the prosecution’s application to forfeit RM1.98 million allegedly received by the foundation from 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB).

The foundation’s lawyer, Hariharan Tara Singh, who informed the High Court here yesterday, requested for a short mention date to update the court on the status of the representation.

Judicial Commissioner Datuk Ahmad Shahrir Mohd Salleh then fixed Oct 4 for case management, and Nov 4 for trial should the representation fail.

Ahmad Shahrir also fixed trial dates for three other forfeiture cases yesterday.

Kelantan Umno’s case will be heard on Nov 14, Parti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah’s case on Nov 12, and IPG Mediabrands Sdn Bhd’s case on Nov 18.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Mohd Farez Rahman informed the court that the notice for the cases had been gazetted and no third parties had come to challenge the seizure and that only the named entities are contesting.

Yesterday’s cases are part of the 41 entities named by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission to recover some RM265.03 million linked to 1MDB.

It was reported earlier this week that the government has managed to recover funds from former minister Datuk Hasan Malek, Akademi Pemuda and Yayasan Permata.
