KUALA LUMPUR (July 18): PKR vice president Dr Xavier Jayakumar urges his party members to stay united and leave the sex video scandal, allegedly involving deputy president Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali, to police investigations.

In a statement today, Xavier said the current party condition is worrying after a series of statements issued by party leaders in the past few days.

"Statements related to the obscene video distributed by irresponsible parties have raised many question marks and resulted in significant disagreements until the party's integrity appears to have been hit. Looking at this issue, which is now part of the party, is a worrying development for me," he said.

Xavier went on to remind party members that it was Azmin who led most of the party's efforts in liberating PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

"Let us not forget that most of PKR's efforts to liberate our leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim [were] led by our PKR deputy president Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali and other comrades. PKR's position today will not be a reality without the contribution of our two leaders," he said.

"Investigations on the case should be left entirely to the police. Therefore I urge all party members to concentrate on our unity rather than issuing speculative statements that can humiliate our own party under the media lens," he added.
