Pastel Lite

Synthpop duo band, Pastel Lite is launching their upcoming album Pop Bilik Tidur. Presented by Yuna’s Room Records, this even is certainly not one to miss. The band includes experienced musicians Eff Hakim and Faliq Mohd, who have opened for international names such as Tame Impala, The XX. Beat Goes Bach

Pianist and musician, Mei Lin Hii initiated Beat Goes Bach to explore music in an unusual way. She merges the classical music of Johann Sebastian Bach with drums and percussions to reimagine the music and its feeling. Joining her is percussionist and saxaphonist Steve Thornton who has had an impressive career. Un Yamada x Kelantanese traditional music collaboration project

The National Academy of Arts, Culture and Heritage (Aswara) is collaborating with The Japan Foundation for the Un Yamada x Kelantanese traditional music collaboration project. Running until Oct 28, this project aims to create new dance-music works that grow and strengthen the networks of dance and music. The theme is Blessings of Life. Dancer and choreographer, Un Yamada from Japan will be working with local talents Zamzuriah Zahari as project coordinator. Instrumentalists include Kamarul Baisah Hussin and Mat Din Hussin, while Eddin Khoo from Pusaka will be the adviser and moderator for the showcase. Jumero

Made up of three members — lead vocalist and guitarist, Jared Lim; bassist and back-up vocals, Michael Lim; and percussionist Ryan Gomes — Jumero has released two albums since their inception in 2012. Their first album, Stepping Stones, has been performed at numerous festivals in countries such as South Korea, Japan, China and Indonesia. In April this year, they released Mind Games and tonight and tomorrow night they intend to impress audiences at Alexis Bistro with their music. The pop-up community cinema is back with an exciting film. BacKLane Cinema presents the second screening as part of the KUL Design Month 2019. This initiative is by Dewan Bandar Kuala Lumpur, Citi Foundation and Think City, to beautify and activate downtown KL laneways. As the theme of Kuala Lumpur design Month is to celebrate Ikons, the movie showing the classic Pendekar Bujang Lapok. Come dressed in local garbs and enjoy. Chitrangada — a love story

Dive into the incredible love story Chitrangada, performed by Bharathanatyam dancers from Kshetra Academy. Founded and taught by Apsara Ram Gopal, the students of this Indian classical dance school will have you glued to your seat. The performance follows the princess of Manipur, Chitrangada, who was brought up like a son. Despite his initial reservations the hero Arjuna meets this formidable princess, and falls deeply in love. But alas, Arjuna has taken a vow of celibacy. Follow this incredible story tonight at 8.30pm. Tickets are RM50 or RM30 for balcony seats. Diwali delights

Treat yourself on Sunday to the Diwali delights buffet meal at Cinnamon Coffee House.
