Pink Power Day

Co-labs Coworking presents the Pink Power Day, in conjunction with Pink October and Breast Cancer Foundation Malaysia. The event is organised to honour breast cancer survivors and raise awareness to the public. It will allow guests to experience the Pinktober Wellness series and to  discuss challenges, obstacles and the journey of how people have overcome cancer. The female-led panel session, theme “Real Women Talk”, includes Rozella Marie, Low Ngai Yuen, Hiba Abdul Rahman and Elyn Pow, and is moderated by Nadiah Hanim. INXO International Forum 2019

In conjunction with the INXO Arts Fund 2019 Award Ceremony is the INXO International Forum 2019, an event open to the public. The award ceremony helps support 10 art practitioners chosen from 88 applicants from various disciplines. They have the chance to win grants from RM3,000 to RM10,000 to support their projects. The forum is a two-day panel discussion to bring together accomplished art practitioners, including artists, directors and producers. There are nine panellists from six countries. The title of the forum is “Crossing Boundaries — Multidisciplinary Creation in the Arts,” and  the panellists will discuss topics such as cross-disciplinary collaboration, artist residency programme, and audience interactive creation. Marriage and Mutton Curry

Here’s your chance to meet author Datuk M Shanmughalingam, who has his short stories and poems published in over 30 international anthologies worldwide. His newest book, and first collection of short fiction, Marriage and Mutton Curry paints the concerns and intrigues of the Malaysian Jaffna Tamil community. Julian Moreen

German singer-songwriter and pianist, Julian Moreen, makes his way to the Alexis Bistro stage with a band whose origins are Austria, Taiwan and Kuala Lumpur. Witness their performance which is an atmospheric blend of folk, modern jazz and indie rock. Joining Moreen on stage is Austrian drummer Konstatin Kraeutler, Taiwanese bassist Yu-Jia Liu, and Malaysian guitarist Andrew Cheng. Moreen has a close friendship with Cheng as they met at the Berklee College of Music in the US, and went on an Asian tour, playing over 20 dates in Malaysia, Singapore and Taiwan. Judika featuring Jaclyn Victor

The Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO) performs with award-winning Indonesian star Judika. His husky voice and incredible talent will captivate you throughout the evening. That’s Entertainment!

Pan Productions presents its new show That’s Entertainment! Around The World in 90 Minutes, in collaboration with Maybank. An air voyage with seven Pan Airlines cabin crew, who transport you across seven continents with an incredible range of iconic music and in-flight shenanigans. Created and directed by Nell Ng, the show stars Christian Palencia, Dina Nadzir, Janet Lee, Joel Wong, Melissa Ong, Nick Davis and Nikki Palikat. Planet Shangri-La

Malaysian artist Justin Lim is having his highly anticipated solo exhibition at Richard Koh Fine Art (RKFA) called Planet Shangri-La. Delving into the many depictions of utopia throughout history and art, Lim’s works are an extension of his previous exhibition, Honey Trap Arcadia. His current works display tongue-in-cheek commentary with a sensitivity of colour — a sharp shades of blue. BacKLane Cinema #07

The pop-up community cinema is back for its seventh instalment. BacKLane Cinema works towards activating the laneways of central Kuala Lumpur and to gather the community with entertaining films. This edition celebrates “icons” of Malaysia.
