1 workshop for the environmentalists

Beeswax Wraps Workshop

In this modern day and age, the use of plastic in our everyday lives has become virtually inevitable with plastic packaging on every item in stores, ranging from fresh produce to electronic devices. Take part in the movement to cut down on plastic with this short informative course in utilising nature’s alternative to plastic: beeswax. Beeswax can be used to make food wraps, eliminating the need for items such as cling film, zip lock bags and plastic containers. It is also beneficial to our health as it reduces our exposure to harmful toxins and chemicals present in plastic. In this workshop, you will be taught how to prepare and transform beeswax and fabric into natural reusable wraps. It will be held on Sunday from 10am to noon at The Hive Bulk Foods, 92A, Lorong Maarof, Bangsar Park, Kuala Lumpur. The admission fee is RM70. For more information, go to thehivebulkfoods.com.

1 play for the theatregoers

Constellations

If you are an advocate of the quantum multiverse theory (hypothesising the existence of multiple universes parallel to the one we live in), Constellations by Nick Payne is a must-watch play as it explores the notions of love, science and the endless possibilities relationships hold. It tells the story of Marianne, a physicist, and Roland, a beekeeper, who meet at a party. Will they form a romantic relationship? And if they do, will it flourish or end tragically? Alternate situations are presented in the play as it gives way to the butterfly effect, illustrating how even the tiniest changes at present times can significantly affect the future outcome. Showtimes for today and tomorrow are at 8.30pm and on Sunday at 3pm. Watch it at Blackbox, Damansara Performing Arts Centre (DPAC), Empire Damansara, Jalan PJU 8/8, Damansara Perdana, Petaling Jaya. Tickets are priced at RM68 (normal) and RM58 (concession). For more information, go to dpac.com.my.
