<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>KUALA LUMPUR: WCT Holdings Bhd has clinched a procurement, construction and commissioning of civil and infrastructure works worth RM267 million from Petroliam Nasional Bhd’s subsidiary, PRPC Utilities and Facilities Sdn Bhd.</p></div><div class=inPageAd id=div-gpt-ad-inpage></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>WCT said yesterday its wholly-owned subsidiary WCT Bhd on Monday received a letter of award from PRPC for the job.</p></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>The works are for Petchem Interconnecting and 6900 Area, and Petchem Interconnecting South Area, which are expected to be completed in 31 months from the effective date.</p></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>WCT is tasked with completing the earthworks, concrete works, storm water drainage system, roads and paving, miscellaneous works, underground piping, earthing networks, procurement, temporary works and utilities.</p></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>“The contract is expected to contribute positively to the group’s future earnings and net assets,” it added.</p></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>Shares in WCT closed down two sen or 1.45% at RM1.36 yesterday, with a market capitalisation of RM1.62 billion.</p></div>

<p>CIMB Thai Bank PCL’s net profit for the first quarter ended March 31, 2024 (1QFY2024) dropped 24.6% year-on-year to 626.1 million baht from 830.1 million baht, as it reported lower operating income and higher expenses. &nbsp;</p>

<p>The group recorded an 8.4% drop in operating income and an 11.8% increase in operating expenses.
