KUALA LUMPUR: British Airways (BA) has appointed Vivian Tan-Loh as commercial manager for Malaysia, overseeing the airline’s commercial activities and development here.

In a statement yesterday, BA said Tan-Loh has worked at the airline for over 30 years in various roles across customer service, reservations, training, sales and management. Before taking up her current role, she was general manager of BA’s general sales agent office in Malaysia.

“Vivian brings with her a wealth of experience in the airline industry and has a strong record in fostering relationships with customers and partners in Malaysia,” BA regional general manager for Southeast Asia, Robert Williams said.

Tan-Loh said the airline is gearing up for the launch of its flights in May.

“This is an exciting time for BA. Our local office is already setup and we are gearing up to the launch of flights in May.

“I’m delighted to be serving our customers in one of the most vibrant economies in the world and I look forward to working closely with our teams and valued partners in Malaysia,” she added.

BA is resuming direct daily flights from Kuala Lumpur to London on May 28 and will be the only airline on the route to offer customers a choice of four cabins. It last served Malaysia in 2001.
